Lawsons have been instructed by the vendor to sell the entire contents of this prestigious home, by public auction. ‘Havilah’ House is an imposing Victorian Gothic Revival villa with exquisite cedar joinery, built in 1893 and once the home of William Dixon, public benefactor and collector of books, maps, pictures and manuscripts, the majority of which were donated to the State Library giving rise to the Dixon Wing. The current owners have lovingly restored the property to its former glory and are selling the entire contents of house and outbuildings due to a seachange.

The period furnishings on offer comprise Georgian, William IV, Victorian and Edwardian dining, lounge and bedroom furniture and decorative objects, including display cases, occasional tables, a fine inlaid bedroom suite, a parlour suite, an extending dining table and chairs, longcase and mantel clocks and garnitures, chests of drawers, iron beds, kero lamps, girandoles and lustres, desks, blanket boxes, porcelain and glass, copper and brass, linen and lace, work boxes and objet d’art. Works of art from Australian and internationally reknowned artists including Norman Lindsay, Pablo Picasso, Charles Blackman, John Coburn, Arthur Boyd, Salvador Dali, Sidney Nolan, Gloria Petyarre, Robert Dickerson and many more.
